Taste of Maine Cooking School Brunch / Kennebunkport Shopping Trip (6 hours)This tour is sure to be a sellout! Stonewall Kitchen is a New England success story.  The business  started with a passion for food, in a small home kitchen in Hampton NH.  Family and friends helped bottle, label and box products to take each weekend to farmer's markets and craft fairs throughout New England.  As their products became popular favorites and the company grew, they moved out of the small kitchen and into larger quarters on a farm in Kittery, Maine.

A converted barn was used for production, offices and distribution center for more than two years.  Today, Stonewall Kitchen boasts over 6,000 wholesale accounts nationwide, thriving catalog and web divisions and eight company stores.   Whether you're a novice or an experienced cook, we invite you to join us on a culinary adventure. The Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School is a fun, state-of-the-art classroom and the place to be if you love to cook, love to eat or just want to have a great time.  Great food, clear concise instruction in an atmosphere that is relaxed, comfortable and friendly.  You'll go home with a clear understanding of how to recreate these recipes in your own kitchen, a goodie bag of Stonewall products used in the demonstration and have the opportunity to purchase the finest tools, appliances and utensils used by  the chef.   Stonewall’s flagship Company Store is located in the same facility where you will find their complete line of specialty foods and beautiful items for your kitchen and home.  Relax, learn and listen while being served the following fabulous brunch menu:

shopping_tours.jpg Then, work off those calories with a shopping excursion to one of the quaintest villages in Maine, Kennebunkport.  Historically a shipbuilding and fishing village, for well over a century the town has been a popular seaside tourist destination. Kennebunkport has a small district of souvenir shops, art galleries, seafood restaurants, and  bed and breakfasts.  Its reputation as an upscale community comes from the numerous large seaside estates along Ocean Avenue and other coastal thoroughfares. In the summer months, many wealthy people from across the Northeast vacation in Kennebunkport and nearby Goose Rocks Beach. It is regarded as one of the most expensive vacation areas in the Northeast. During the fall, Kennebunkport is a frequent stop for tour buses showing visitors the famous New England fall colors.  Dock Square, Kennebunkport and Lower Village of Kennebunk are nestled between the Kennebunk River and the ocean--"the port" being on the east side of the river and Lower Village on the west.
On both sides of the river, waterfront buildings steeped in history are the home of fine gift shops, clothing and jewelry boutiques, art galleries and some of the finest restaurants on the Maine Coast.  For more information about Kennebunkport, visit http://www.visitthekennebunks.com   Departs from Holiday Inn By the Bay at 8 AM.
